June 27 to 30, 2010 in a picturesque place in Gorny Altai on the bank of the river Katun specialists of credit cooperation from Altai, Kusbass, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Volgodonsk, Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Arseniev, and Izhevsk gathered at the traditional Forum of Siberian Credit Unions 2010.
The following persons participated in the Forum: Aleksandr Solomkin, Credit Unions’ League Director general, Anatoly Kadrov, the NU Executive manager, Mikhail Mamuta, NAMMS President, “Kooperativniye Finansi” non commercial partnership Chairman, Eric Richard, the National Association of credit unions Executive vice-president and chief legal advisor, Rod Tailor, “Bucksdale” Federal credit union President.
The main topics of the sessions were activities of credit unions within the bill on credit cooperation. The speakers — experts in credit cooperation and microfinance, used practical examples and figures to show to the participants of the Forum, how credit cooperatives work today. During the discussions the issues of operation of elective bodies, meetings of shareholders, compliance with the new norms for activities and formation of compulsory funds were touched upon.
